An Irish Happy New Year!

Today is the first day of 2025! I’m excited about what the new year has in store for our family! We already know of several milestones and events that will occur this year.

Our youngest will be graduating from the University of Alabama in May. I will be retiring from the military in October. Also in October is our 15th wedding anniversary and a trip to Italy!

Yes, 2025 is shaping up to be an exciting year! Also, during this new year, my wife will be going full time on her own as an independent consultant! We are excited about all of the new opportunities in store for her this year!

As we reflected on 2024 and looking at different new year traditions, we decided to start a new tradition with our adult children – bingo! We all had fun playing and picking from a great group of prizes as we each one a few times. We also enjoyed wine, cheeses, seafood, rotel and chips, and lots of sweet snacks.

One of the traditions I wanted to start this year was something my wife read about. She said that the Irish open their back door on the new year to let out the old year and any bad spirits. Once that door is closed, they then open the front door and let in the new year along with its new opportunities and possibilities. This allows the spirt of the new year and all the good things that will come with it, the chance to fill your home.

So, after I kissed my wife at the stroke of midnight, I then opened our back door and allowed 2024 to leave. Then I opened our front door and welcomed in 2025.

My hope this year is that good things will come to us all and that we are happy, healthy, and at peace!

May you and yours enjoy the start of this new year and may it be filled with love, laughter, and adventures!
